NATYCAA Elects 2009-10 Officers and Executive Committee Members

CLEVELAND – The members of the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) selected Carl Heinrich, director of athletics at Johnson County Community College, to serve as President for 2009-10. “Dave Evans did an outstanding job of leading us during 2008-09,” stated Heinrich. “I want to thank everyone that helped make the 2009 Convention a success, including our sponsors and executive committee members. I look forward to leading the association during its 23rd year.” Also elected to serve NATYCAA during 2009-10 were 1st Vice President John Volek, dean/director of athletics at Sierra College; 2nd Vice President Gary Broadhurst, AD at Mohawk Valley CC; and 3rd Vice President Jim Cox, AD at Miami-Dade College. Thomas Stewart, manager of athletics and recreation at Holyoke CC, and Scott Geddis, NATYCAA Past President and AD at Phoenix College, will continue to serve as secretary and treasurer, respectively. 2009-10 Executive Committee members include the following directors of athletics: Scott Barlow, Lakeland CC; Art Becker, Scottsdale CC; Bob Bottger, St. Louis Community College at Meramec; Bobby Bowman, Pasco-Hernando CC; Ron Case, Gloucester County College; Bob Clement, West Hills College – Lemoore; Jim Forkum, Santa Rosa Junior College; Chris Haines, South Mountain CC; Brenda Hampton, Iowa Western CC; Rick Hitt, South Florida CC; John Jackson, Dean College; Kulwant Singh, De Anza College; Gregory South, New Mexico Military Institute; Jack Sullivan, County College of Morris; Joe Tubb, South Plains College; and Troy Tucker, Northampton CC. Also serving on the Executive Committee are Carlyle Carter, executive director, California Commission on Athletics; Mary Ellen Leicht, executive director, National Junior College Athletic Association; Dick McClain, executive director, Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges; and LuAnn Zimmick, assistant director of athletics, College of DuPage.
