NATYCAA Elects 2011-12 Officers and Executive Committee Members

CLEVELAND – The members of the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) selected Gary Broadhurst, associate dean of athletics and physical education at Mohawk Valley Community College, to serve as President for 2011-12.

John Volek was a phenomenal leader throughout 2010-11,” stated Broadhurst. “I want to thank everyone that helped make the 2011 Convention another great success, including our sponsors and executive committee members. I’m looking forward to an exciting year in 2011-12 as we celebrate 25 years of excellence and commitment to two year college athletics.”

Also elected to serve NATYCAA during 2011-12 were 1st Vice President Jim Forkum, AD at Santa Rosa Junior College; 2nd Vice President Jack Sullivan, AD at County College of Morris; 3rd Vice President Tim Drain, AD at Tyler Junior College; Secretary Brenda Hampton, AD at Iowa Western CC; and Treasurer Scott Barlow, AD at Lakeland CC.

2011-12 Executive Committee members include the following directors of athletics: Dudley “Skip” Bailey, Munroe CC; Art Becker, Scottsdale CC; Ron Case, Gloucester County College; Bob Clement, West Hills College – Lemoore; Don Dutcher, Herkimer CC; Albert Gasparian, Golden West College; Marci Henry, Northeastern Junior College; Rick Hitt, South Florida CC; John Jackson, Dean College; Jay Mehroff, East Central College; Bob Peters, Centralia College; John Scarpino, Seminole CC; Greg Silcox, Paradise Valley CC; Kulwant Singh, De Anza College; Doug Spiwak, Harper College; Doug Stotler, Jefferson College; Joe Tubb, South Plains College; and Troy Tucker, Northampton CC. Also serving on the Executive Committee are Marco Azurdia, executive director, Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges; Carlyle Carter, CEO/president, California Community College Athletic Association; Mary Ellen Leicht, executive director, National Junior College Athletic Association; and LuAnn Zimmick, assistant director of athletics, College of DuPage.
