Tim Drain is in his 13th year in athletics administration at Tyler Junior College (TJC). The 2010-11 campaign is his tenth year as the athletics director.

Tyler Junior College has won a total of 44 NJCAA National Championships since 1946, with 12 of them coming with Drain as athletics director. The TJC athletics program is comprised of 11 varsity sports and an athletics training program. The TJC athletics program finished sixth in the 2010-2011 NATYCAA Cup Standings, following up a 4th place finish in 2009-10.

Drain currently serves as the NJCAA Women's Director for Region 14 and is a member of the following NJCAA National Committees: Women's Softball, Soccer, Tennis, and the Chair of Service and Recognition. He is a voting member in the following NJCAA National Polls: Women's Basketball, Women's Softball, and Women's Soccer. Drain has been the tournament director for the following NJCAA National Championships: D1 Men's Soccer National Championships (2000-2007, 2010), D3 Baseball World Series (2007-2011), D1 Women's Soccer National Championship (2009), and the Region 14 Basketball Championships (2000, 2007). He was recently named a winner of the 2010 George E. Killian Award of Excellence from the NJCAA. He was a member of the National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Executive Committee in 2010-2011, representing District 6.

Drain received all three degrees from Texas A&M University, including his Doctorate in Educational Administration in 1998.

Drain has been married to his wife Holly for 18 years, and has two children - Peyton (13) and Nathan (11).
