FILL THE GAP! BECOME A NACMA MENTOR OR MENTEE!

Sept. 19, 2012

Those of us who have been in the industry a while have most likely had the opportunity to develop relationships and find mentors to assist as we navigate our careers.   This summer at the NACMA Board meetings we decided to revamp the Female Mentoring Program and offer a Mentoring Program to all members of NACMA as another membership benefit.

Through the development of the YP committee we have seen an increase in young professionals getting involved in live chats, forums and blogging.  These individuals are looking to make an impact in their departments and improve our industry.   With their passion and energy in mind, they were the focus of the new mentoring program.

The program is designed to pair young professionals with veterans in the industry as some of these individuals have limited contacts at the senior level across the country.  The program will be mutually beneficial as each person can act as a sounding board for ideas, advice and help increase your network by introducing you to others within in the industry.  I’ve met some of my closest friends through NACMA and my mentors and hope this program will do the same for you.

We’ve defined a mentor as an individual who has five or more years of experience in the industry and a mentee would be an individual who has less than five years of experience.

If you are interested, click HERE to register for this program.  Deadline for registration is Friday, October 5, with pairings being announced in early October.
