NACMA Elects New Officers and Board of Directors

gregCLEVELAND - At the 21st Annual National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Convention in late June, the Association members selected Northern Illinois University Assistant Athletics Director/Marketing, Greg Herring, to serve as the president in 2012-13.   

Herring will take over from Jamie DiLoreto, associate athletics director external operations at Boston College, who served as president in 2011-12.

"Our Association made some tremendous strides over the past year under the leadership of Jamie DiLoreto," stated Herring. "We had a record number of members, Convention attendees, offered more year-round programming than ever before and awarded the inaugural Marketing Team of the Year Award (presented by row27) to Iowa State. I look forward to working with our Board and sponsors in pursuit of achieving our collective goals on behalf of our membership."

Also elected to serve NACMA during 2012-13 were 1st Vice President Craig Pintens, senior associate AD-marketing & public relations; 2nd Vice President/Secretary Eric Nichols, assistant athletics director/ marketing at the University of South Carolina; and 3rd Vice President/Treasurer Becky Parke, director, marketing and communications at Arizona State University.

NACMA added four members to its 2012-13 Board of Directors, including Nick Konawalik, assistant athletics director for marketing, University of North Carolina Charlotte; Zack Lassister, senior associate athletics director - external operations, University of Central Florida; David Lovell, associate director of championships and alliances, presentation at the NCAA; and Joni Smoller, director, fan experience and sales at Kansas State University.

The four Board members listed above join the following individuals on the 2012-13 NACMA Board of Directors Megan Allen, assistant athletics director for external operations/SWA at Texas A&M Corpus Christi; Christie Anderson, assistant athletics director for marketing and promotions, The University of Montana; Matt Beckman, assistant athletics director for marketing at Boise State University; Eric Buskirk, senior associate athletics director - external relations, University of California Riverside; Brian Hicks, assistant athletics director for marketing at Xavier University; Amber Lilyestrom, associate athletics director for marketing and communications, University of New Hampshire; John Phillips, associate director of athletics, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University; and Ayo Taylor-Dixon, associate athletics director - marketing and revenue development, University of South Florida. 

Tracie Hitz, chief marketing officer at Old Hat Creative and former Board member, will serve as the advisor to the Association's Officers and Board of Directors in 2012-13.
