CLEVELAND – The members of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) have elected Ayodele Taylor-Dixon, senior associate athletics director for fan development at the University of Minnesota, to serve as President for 2017-18.
“It is an honor and privilege to serve as the President of NACMA especially given the role that NACMA has played in my career,” said Taylor-Dixon. “It is humbling to serve in a role that has seen some tremendous athletic administrators come before me. I am excited about the direction that NACMA is headed and I am looking forward to the implementation and execution of the 2020 NACMA Strategic Plan.”
Taylor-Dixon takes over for past president, Joni Smoller, who served for 2016-17. In addition to Taylor-Dixon, NACMA elected Brian Hicks, associate athletics director for external relations at Xavier University, as 1st Vice President; Ryan Ivey, director of athletics at Austin Peay State University as 2nd Vice President; and Michael Thompson, senior associate athletics director for communications and marketing, as the 3rd Vice President for the 2017-18 year.
Taylor-Dixon and the three Officers, are joined by the NACMA Board of Directors.
The 2017-18 Board of Directors will consist of: Carrie Blankenship, senior associate athletics director – external operations, University of Maryland; Brian Bowsher, chief marketing officer, University of Washington; Bethany Cordell, associate athletics director for marketing, Montana State University; Tyler Jones, assistant athletics director, fan engagement, The Ohio State University; Craig Kelley, associate athletics director, marketing at University of Southern California; Erin Kraebber, associate athletics director – marketing, UAB; Doug Lipinski, deputy director of athletics – external relations, Grand Valley State University; and Brad Wurthman, associate director of athletics, marketing & fan development, University of Illinois. The NACMA Board of Directors also welcomes Georgia Tech’s Director of Marketing, Promotions & Fan Experience, Markeisha Everett for the 2017-18 year.
