NACMA Elects New Officers and Board of Directors
July 9, 2010 CLEVELAND - At the 19th Annual National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Convention at the Marriott Hotel in Anaheim, California, the members chose Kurt Esser, associate athletics director-external affairs at the University of New Mexico to serve as president in 2010-11. Esser takes over the reigns from Jeff Bain, director of athletics at Martin Methodist College, who served as NACMA's president in 2009-10. "We are coming off a very exciting year and I'm looking forward to more great things for NACMA," stated Esser. "We will use the momentum from the 20th anniversary event to continue exploring and expanding our industry's creative revenue engine and continue our focus on technology trends." Also elected to serve NACMA during 2010-11 were 1st Vice President James DiLoreto, associate athletics director-external operations at Boston College; 2nd Vice President/Secretary Ann Brett Strickland, assistant athletics director-corporate sponsorships at Western Carolina University; and 3rd Vice President/Treasurer Greg Herring, assistant athletics director-external affairs at Radford University. NACMA added five members to its 2010-11 Board of Directors, including Eric Buskirk, associate athletics director-external affairs, Louisiana Tech University; Becky Parke, director of marketing, Arizona State University; John Phillips, associate director of athletics, Embry-Riddle University; Angie Sit, assistant athletics director-marketing, University of Oregon; and Ayo Taylor-Dixon, assistant athletics director-marketing and revenue development, University of South Florida. Buskirk, Parke, Phillips, Sit and Taylor-Dixon join the following individuals on the Board - Christie Anderson, assistant athletics director for marketing and promotions, The University of Montana; James Companion, associate commissioner, Big South Conference; Eric Nichols, director of marketing, University of South Carolina; and Craig Pintens, assistant athletics director-marketing and promotions, Louisiana State University.
