CLEVELAND – The members of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) have selected Brian Hicks, associate athletics director for external relations at Xavier University, to serve as President for 2018-19.
“This is an extraordinary honor and privilege,” stated Hicks. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead NACMA, the first and largest affiliate association of NACDA. I will work together with our outstanding group of Officers and Board of Directors to execute the 2020 Strategic Plan initiatives to support our membership in their efforts on their campuses and throughout the country. I look forward to a great year ahead.”
Hicks takes over for Past President, Ayo Taylor-Dixon, who served for 2017-18. In addition to Hicks, NACMA selected Ryan Ivey, director of athletics at Stephen F. Austin State University, as 1st Vice President and Michael Thompson, senior associate athletics director/communications & marketing at the University of Mississippi to serve as 2nd Vice President. Finally, NACMA welcomes Brian Bowsher, chief marketing officer at the University of Washington, as the 3rd Vice President for the 2018-19 year.
The Officers are joined by the NACMA Board of Directors, which will consist of: Carrie Blankenship, senior associate athletics director – external operations, University of Maryland; Bethany Cordell, associate athletics director, Montana State University; Markeisha Everett, assistant athletics director of marketing, University of Pittsburgh; Tyler Jones, assistant athletics director, fan engagement, The Ohio State University; Craig Kelley, assistant athletics director, marketing at University of Southern California; Erin Kraebber, associate athletics director – marketing, UAB; Doug Lipinski, deputy director of athletics – external relations, Grand Valley State University; and Brad Wurthman, senior associate athletics director, external operations, Virginia Tech. Lastly, the NACMA Board of Directors also welcomes Lauren Taylor, director of marketing and competition, Southeastern Conference (SEC) for the 2018-19 year.
