CLEVELAND - At the 18th Annual National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Convention at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Florida, the members chose Brent Seebohm, associate athletics director & vice president/general manager for the University of Arizona & IMG College to serve as president in 2009-10. Seebohm will take over for Dennis Kalina, associate athletics director for development at Gonzaga University, who served as NACMA's president in 2008-09.
"I am fortunate to lead our talented Board team during the special 20th Anniversary year," stated Seebohm, NACMA's youngest President. "Thanks to Dennis's impact, NACMA is poised to continue reputable growth as our industry's creative revenue engine. We will launch several fun new initiatives for our colleagues' benefit this year, while focusing on technology trends, past president's involvement, and being intentional with our younger and transitioning members. The 2010 Convention will be a major must-attend event."
Also elected to serve NACMA during 2009-10 were First Vice President Jeff Bain, director of athletics at Martin Methodist College; Second Vice President Kurt Esser, associate athletics director - external affairs at the University of New Mexico; and Third Vice President James DiLoreto, associate athletics director - external operations at Boston College.
The 2009-10 NACMA Board of Directors include: Christie Anderson, assistant athletics director for marketing and promotions, The University of Montana; Shawn Becket, formerly with ISP Sports; James Companion, associate commissioner, Big South Conference; Frank Cuervo, general manager, Northern Illinois ISP Sports Network; Greg Herring, assistant athletics director - external affairs, Radford University; Tracie Hitz, associate athletics director for marketing and sales, Northwestern University; Beth Hunter, director of marketing, University of Notre Dame; David Lichtenstein, associate director of athletics for external affairs, Southeastern Louisiana University; Eric Nichols, director of marketing, University of South Carolina; Carol Parrish, director of marketing, University of Washington; Craig Pintens, associate athletics director - marketing and sales, Marquette University; and Ann Brett Strickland, assistant athletics director - corporate sponsorships, Western Carolina University.
Christine Plonsky, women's athletics director at the University of Texas, and Tim Selgo, director of athletics at Grand Valley State University will serve as advisors to the Association's Officers and Board of Directors.
