Orlando, Florida
-- The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) has announced Mississippi State University as its 2016-17 and the first back-to-back Marketing Team of the Year Award (MTOYA) recipient, sponsored by SuperFan. "Congratulations to Mississippi State on this well-deserved honor," said NACMA President Joni Smoller, Assistant Athletics Director for Fan Experience & Sales, Kansas State University. "What a thrill and honor, I'm so incredibly proud of our marketing team" said Leah Beasley, Senior Associate Athletics Director/Chief Marketing Officer at Mississippi State University. "We had several new members this past year who immediately bought in and invested in Mississippi State and into our mission of relentlessly promoting the student-athlete and fan experience and further enhancing the Bulldog brand."

Now in its sixth year, the nominations for the MTOYA spanned across from FBS, FCS, Division I-AAA, and Division II. The two other finalists for the 2017 MTOYA were the University of Maryland and the University of Oregon.

The selection committee was made up of NACMA Past Presidents, as well as two NACDA Past Presidents.

Award recipients received the prestigious NACMA MTOYA Trophy to keep in their offices and were recognized at the NACMA Closing Ceremonies on Wednesday, June 14 at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Florida. The honorable mentions and finalists' submissions are now posted on the NACMA Community for the membership to view.
