NACMA Elects New Officers and Board of Directors

Dallas, TX - At the 17th Annual National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Convention at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, the members chose Dennis Kalina, associate athletics director for development at the Gonzaga University to serve as president in 2008-09. Kalina will take over for Mary Pink, associate athletics director for marketing at the Iowa State University, who served as the Association's president in 2007-08.

Also elected to serve NACMA during 2008-09 were First Vice President Brent Seebohm, vice president/general manager of IMG College at the University of Arizona; Second Vice President Jeff Bain, director of athletics at Martin Methodist College; and Third Vice President Kurt Esser, associate athletics director, external affairs at the University of New Mexico.

Tracie Hitz, assistant athletics director for marketing at Northwestern University and Devon Thomas, director of marketing and licensing at the University of Idaho were selected to join Shawn Becket, assistant vice president/general manager, University of Pittsburgh ISP Sports Network; James Companion, associate commissioner, Big South Conference; Frank Cuervo, assistant director of athletics - external operations, Indiana University; James DiLoreto, associate athletics director for external operations, Boston College; Greg Herring, assistant athletics director for marketing, University of Southern Mississippi; Beth Hunter, director of marketing, University of Notre Dame; David Lichtenstein, assistant director of athletics, Morehead State University; Carol Parrish, director of marketing, University of Washington; and Ann Brett Strickland, assistant athletics director - corporate sponsorships, Western Carolina University on the Board of Directors.

 

 

Dianna P. Gray, professor and director, School of Sport & Exercise Science and director of the UNC Sport Marketing Research Institute at the University of Northern Colorado; and Dan Migala, president, The Migala Report and vice president of industry affairs, Sport Marketing Association will continue to serve as advisors to the Association.
