Kansas State Named NACMA Marketing Team of the Year

 - The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) has announced Kansas State University as its 2013-14 Marketing Team of the Year Award (MTOYA) recipient, sponsored by FanMaker. The winner was announced during the Kickoff session at the 23rdAnnual NACMA Convention in Orlando, Florida.

"This is a much deserved award for Kansas State University," said NACMA President Craig Pintens, senior associate athletic director – marketing & public relations at the University of Oregon. "The commitment their entire department has to marketing is contagious and will be emulated by others in the industry.   NACMA is thrilled to honor them with this prestigious award.”

The Marketing Team of the Year Award was created by NACMA to show the significant impact a marketing team has not only on the athletics department, but the campus and surrounding community as well.  Kansas State’s nomination was centered around giving their fans the best fan experience, which they displayed through a unique website highlighting some of their top campaigns and results over the last year.  Click here to view the website, highlighting sales and attendance, fan experience, marketing and promotions and more of the Kansas State Marketing Team of the Year efforts.

“I am excited for our staff to be chosen by their peers for this prestigious honor,” said Scott Garrett, assistant AD – ticketing and fan strategies. “Our entire K-State Athletics department, from our K-StateHD.TV staff to communications, graphic design, internet services, ticketing and event operations, all played a key role in this award and have had a dramatic impact on providing our fans the Best Fan Experience in the Big 12.”

In its third year, there were 16 nominations for the MTOYA, spanning across FBS (12), and Division I-AAA (4). The two other finalists for the 2014 MTOYA were Wichita State University and University of Southern California.

The selection committee was made up of NACMA Past Presidents, as well as two NACDA Past Presidents.

Award recipients will receive the prestigious NACMA MTOYA Trophy to keep in their offices and will be announced and recognized at the NACDA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, June 10 at the World Center Marriott Resort.  The finalists' submissions have been posted on the NACMA Online Library for the membership to view.
