CLEVELAND - The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) is proud to announce the National Football League’s (NFL) Senior Vice President of Marketing, Creative and Brand Jaime Weston as the Keynote Speaker for the 2018 NACMA Convention. Weston will address #NACMA18 attendees on Thursday, June 28 at 1:45 p.m. at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
“We are extremely excited to have Jaime deliver the keynote to our members at the National Convention,” stated Markeisha Everett, director of marketing, promotions & fan experience at Georgia Tech and NACMA programming committee co-chair. “Her perspective is fresh, insightful and she brings a ton of energy and excitement.”
Weston’s keynote session, entitled “Marketing to the Next Generation,” will deliver key message points about marketing with a purpose by having an understanding of demographic breakdown, spending habits, and more. The #NACMA18 keynote will also include information to assist with successful targeted messaging and advertising as well as having influence to gain buy-in and maximize resources across organizations.
"We are excited to welcome Jaime to #NACMA18 and look forward to having someone of her caliber kickoff what is shaping up to be a great Convention,” said Director of Athletics at Austin Peay State University and NACMA programming committee co-chair Ryan Ivey. “One of our main objectives was to ensure that our kickoff speaker and programming tracks aligned with the three pillars that the Board of Directors adopted through our strategic plan. There is no question that Jaime's experiences with the NFL align nicely with our strategic plan."
Weston joined the NFL in 2003 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Creative and Brand. She is the driving force behind the league’s efforts to foster a greater connection with current NFL fans and develop the next generation of fans. Her current role is to oversee brand management and creative strategy, serving as managing director of the award-winning NFL Creative Department. In this role, she managed the creation of the NFL’s popular Super Bowl campaigns: “Eli & Odell: Touchdown Celebrations” and “Super Bowl Babies,” which have garnered tens of millions of engagements across social media.
Weston is also charged with leading the league’s advertising and entertainment initiatives. She conceived new data acquisition platforms, such as the NFL Newborn Club, and helped to create the NFL Women’s Summit. She is responsible for working across the 32 NFL teams, sponsors, licensees and broadcast partners to protect and grow the NFL’s brand equity.
Under Weston’s leadership, the NFL established a centralized management discipline to best leverage its brand, reimagined its 50th anniversary Super Bowl logo, and updated the iconic NFL shield. As a result of her work, SportsBusiness Journal recognized Weston as a one of the leading “Game Changers” in the field.
A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Weston developed the e-commerce division and brand strategy for the Susan Dell apparel brand on the heels of its first collection debut prior to joining the NFL. This followed a time when she worked for Federated Department Stores on the team that launched Bloomingaldes.com.
