David Lichtenstein was elected to the NACMA Board of Directors in 2007. He is in his fourth year as assistant director of athletics at Morehead State University, where he conducts the corporate sponsor cultivation and development efforts of the department. Since coming to Morehead State, he initiated the creation of the annual Eagle Excellence Auction and Golf event and was an integral part of the development of the Eagles' popular new athletic marks. His duties also include oversight of the Eagle cross country, rifle, tennis, and track programs.

An experienced administrator in the field of intercollegiate athletics marketing and promotions, he has also served in the athletic departments at Northern Illinois University, UTEP, South Dakota State University, and New Mexico State University. He also was an intern at the University of Oregon and prior to pursuing his master's degree, volunteered at Louisiana State University.

A native of Baton Rouge, La., Lichtenstein holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a master's degree from The Ohio State University. He was a four time varsity letter winner in swimming, earning these distinctions at Arkansas and Tulane University.
