Dennis Kalina enters his third year in the Gonzaga University athletic department as the Associate Athletic Director/Development. His duties at Gonzaga include overseeing the Bulldogs development team and working closely with Bulldog Club members. He also develops Gonzaga's comprehensive fundraising and men's basketball ticketing plan, as well as overseeing special development projects and events for the athletic department. Kalina previously worked for eight years at Bradley University as the Associate Athletic Director of External Affairs. Prior to working with the Braves, he also spent two years as the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing at Northwestern State University. In addition to his responsibilities for the Zags, Kalina assumed the presidency of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) at the organization's 17th annual national convention in June of 2008. A native of Portage, Ind., Kalina received both his bachelor's degree in sports marketing/management (1995) and master's degree in athletic administration (1996) from Indiana University, where he helped to market the Hoosier football, men's soccer and women's basketball teams for three years. Prior to working within the IU Athletic Department, he was also a 400-meter hurdler for two seasons on the Hoosiers' track team. Kalina is married to the former Dina Nightenhelser. They are the proud parents of daughter Addison Shelby and son Canyon Marek.
