Entering his second year at Division III York College of Pennsylvania, Greg Herring serves as the director of athletics marketing and as a visiting assistant professor at YCP for the Sports Management Program. Herring's classroom instruction focuses in the area of Tickets Sales/Operations and Negotiations, Sport Marketing, and Sport Administration.

Prior to arriving at York, Herring spent 16 months at Radford University where he served as the assistant athletics director for external affairs with direct oversight of marketing and promotions, ticket operations and sales, sponsorship sales, and the university's trademark/licensing program. During that time, Herring had a 550% impact on the athletic department's revenue, including a 117% increase in men's basketball season tickets. Other revenue came mostly through a newly created and managed corporate partner program established during his tenure.

Other duties included serving as the Executive Producer of Highlander Radio Sports Network which encompassed the broadcast agreement, talent, and first ever weekly live coaches call-in show; assisting with the installation of the school's first video board; and leading efforts on a re-branding campaign. Additionally, Herring was the sport administrator for the men's soccer and women's golf programs, as well as the Highlanders' spirit squads.

Herring joined Radford after having spent five-and-half years at the University of Southern Mississippi as assistant athletics director for marketing and sales. During his tenure at Southern Miss, Herring held oversight responsibilities for athletic marketing, ticket sales and the university's independent licensing program.

Herring also spent time serving as administrator and liaison to the university's spirit squads; worked closely with the fundraising and sponsorship arms of the athletic department; and served on numerous university and community committees. Golden Eagle attendance and ticket revenue increased across the board in all sports but most notably in football (14%), men's basketball (45%) and baseball (17%) during his time at USM. The most significant single-season growth occurred during the 2008 football campaign with the establishment of a new school record set with an 18% increase in season ticket sales totally more than 17,000 tickets sold overall. Herring was also responsible for the efforts that let to new school records for total season attendance (180,475) and average attendance (30,079/game) in the same football season. Enhancements in the marketing, sales and the licensing department's efficiency and service also occurred during his tenure, in addition to negotiating nearly double the amount of advertising inventory that existed upon his arrival.

Prior to arriving in Hattiesburg in 2003, Herring spent two years at the University of Missouri as the assistant director of marketing where among many things he managed a half million dollar groups sales campaign. Herring also spent time with the University of Florida Athletic Association as a marketing intern.

Currently serving as 2nd Vice President on the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrator's (NACMA) Board of Directors, he also served as the NACMA Conference Representative for Conference USA, and served as the C-USA Marketing Directors Committee Chairman in 2006. Herring was also recognized by Conference USA in 2005 for his outstanding efforts in marketing the conference's realignment throughout his local market. He also serves on the Review Board for the Journal for Sports Administration and Supervision.

Herring, a native of Eaton, Ohio is a 1999 graduate of Miami University (OH) with a Bachelor's of Science. In 2008, Herring completed his Master of Science in Sport Management with a concentration in Sports Event Security Management at Southern Miss through the nation's first spectator sport security program/center of its kind. Currently residing in Dover, PA, he is married to the former Meredith Cothern of Baton Rouge, La.
