Dianna Gray, professor, currently teaches sport marketing, marketing research, management, public relations and finance in the graduate sport administration program at the University of Northern Colorado. She joined the UNC faculty in 1995 after teaching appointments at Indiana University and Kent State University. She has worked in education since 1973, at the public school and university levels, most recently serving as the Interim Associate Dean for the College of Natural and Health Sciences (2006-07) and Director of the School of Sport and Exercise Science (2003-07). Dr. Gray's professional experience includes six years of marketing and management in the tennis industry, as well as serving in a consulting capacity for intercollegiate, professional, and Olympic sport organizations.

Dr. Gray is the founder and Director of the UNC Sport Marketing Research Institute (SMRI), a university-based center that conducts research on issues of note in the sport industry and assists sport organizations at all levels with improving the delivery of sport services. Among the sport organizations for which the SMRI has conducted research are the USOC, USA Taekwondo, USA Swimming, the LPGA, YMCA of the Rockies, US Figure Skating, collegiate athletic departments, and the Budweiser Events Center. Projects focus on marketing communication, consumers purchase patterns, service quality, needs assessment, economic impact, and fan demography.

Active in a number of professional organizations, Dr. Gray is a past president of the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) and was recently appointed as an advisory board member with the National Association of College Marketing Administrators (NACMA). She received her Ph.D. and master's from The Ohio State University, and bachelor's degree from James Madison University.
