Marketing and Promotions Assistant / Maroon and Gold Varsity Club (MGVC) Director and Coordinator
Key responsibilities:

  • Serve as Game Day Operations Manager / Field Manager for football, basketball and soccer; direct promotions to increase student attendance, setup sponsor signage and coordinate all half-time field activities, as well as implement new NCAA media timeout regulations.
  • Coordinate, produce, and host basketball halftime promotional events, including on-court game shows and the Barnes & Noble "Shoot for Books and Stuff" halftime Bonanza; Mustangs Bowl-A-Rama.
  • Act as Sales Director for season ticket sales for football and basketball.
  • Coordinate the "Mustangs Care Program," a community outreach program.
  • Spearhead annual spring football game activities, publicity and advertisements with aid from SAAC.
Key Accomplishments:
  • Partnered in selling over $4K in combined memberships at two annual Mustangs Athletic Club drive.
  • Designed and implemented a Marketing Strategic Plan and Logistics Plan for all 11 sports - the Athletic Department's first-ever marketing plan - which employed guerilla (grass-root), standard media (print, radio, TV) and new media (Facebook, Twitter and additional social media).
  • Collaborated with Women's Basketball for "Pink Out" night and with the Volleyball team for "Dig for the Cure," which raised a combined $2,100 for the Susan G. Komen fund and WBCA/Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
  • Fundraised- in tandem with the Chi Omega Sorority - $12,000 for the Make-a-wish Foundation; coordinated a spring game fundraiser and "chili cook-off" to benefit an injured student athlete, which drew 400+ attendees and raised $3,500.
  • Developed, branded and direct the Maroon and Gold Varsity Club, an MSU athletic alumni association. Lead membership drive and set pricing, securing 80 members and doubling memberships in just one year.
  • Produce and edit the MGVC e-newsletter, "The Maroon, The Gold, The Standard" with circulation to over 400 subscribers.
