Lone Star Conference (Division II) invites applications for internship during 2009-10 academic year. Position has been created to enhance efforts to achieve diversity in Conference office and begins in September with $1,300 monthly stipend for 10 months, plus an expense-paid professional development trip. No fringe benefits are associated with this position, which will require flexible hours, some travel, evenings and weekends. Successful candidate will gain well-rounded experience by assisting with administrative duties of Conference office. Area of primary responsibility will be external relations, to include assisting with daily sports information duties and new media ventures. Additional duties could include general office work, attending Conference-related meetings and events, administering championships, working with the Conference SAAC, assisting with compliance matters, and other duties as assigned by Commissioner. Bachelor's degree and some experi! ence working in collegiate athletics are required. Candidates must be able to meet deadlines and should possess strong written and oral communication skills; proficiency in website and live streaming technology, desktop publishing (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop), and basic computer applications along with experience with in-game statistical software (StatCrew) is preferred.
