Description
The Director of Development serves as a member of the development team for the Department of Athletics that is committed to excellence and advancing the department through its strategic plan. The position provides direction and coordination of fundraising strategies for the Department of Athletics. S/he develops and implements long and short term plans to secure major gifts from alumni, friends, volunteers, corporations, foundations and other entities in support of the college and university’s mission, objectives and priorities as set by the Director of Athletics and the department’s leadership team. This position works in a creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged. This position also focuses on all aspects of capital campaign strategic planning and implementation.

Experience/Education
Desired- 3-5 years fundraising experience with a proven record of success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding annual, special or major gifts from individuals, corporations or foundations strongly desired; excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills required. Capital Campaign experience is desired; Must have successful experience working in a collaborative and team oriented environment and act with integrity and personal accountability.
