Kent State University, an NCAA Division I Institution, is seeking a Graduate Assistants for the Athletics Advancement Department. This 12-month position includes a tuition waiver for the fall and spring semester. The graduate assistant is responsible for assisting in all facets of athletic advancement operations, which includes: alumni affairs, fundraising, marketing, operations, tickets and web-based communications. The position includes event management responsibilities involving evenings and weekends. Candidates for this position must have an undergraduate degree and experience in an athletic department is preferred. Graduate student seeking internship or practicum course credit may also be considered. Applicants must be able to work well with others, have outstanding communication, strong organizational, verbal, written and computer skills. The individual in this position must continuously be aware and mindful that all activities or actions reflect Kent State University Athletics mission statement and core values. Qualifications: Must meet the requirement for admission to Kent State Graduate Program.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assists Assistant AD for Athletic Advancement with solicitation and procurement of Donor Base Seating Gifts
  • Coordinate and assist in all athletics development publications and marketing pieces associated with Donor Base Seating
  • Assists in development and maintenance of ticket requests that are tracked and filled based on giving levels
  • Assist in all Blue and Gold activities including solicitations, administration and stewardship
  • Assist the Athletic Advancement Staff with event preparation, management and implementation
  • Assist in game day operations as needed for all sports
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Assistant or Associate AD for Athletic Advancement

    EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in athletics advancement is preferred. Review of applicants will begin March 1, 2010 and continue until the position is filled. Start date July 1, 2010.

    COMPENSATION: The position includes tuition waiver and stipend for fall and spring semester. Hourly wage for summer months.
