Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, one of the highest ranked universities in the nation, seeks a Director of Marketing & Promotions for Athletics. This role reports directly to the Athletic Director and is responsible for the marketing programs as well as assist in the development of new revenue opportunities for the Institute's two Division I and 21 Division III varsity intercollegiate athletic teams. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is a private, non-sectarian coeducational institution founded in 1824 as the nation's first technological university. Today, Rensselaer is counted among the nation's top 50 research universities with highly ranked undergraduate and graduate engineering programs, an expanding curriculum, and a distinguished faculty that includes a Nobel laureate, winners of National Science Foundation Presidential Faculty Fellowships, the Alexander von Humboldt Senior Scientist Fellowship, and members of the National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Engineering. Rensselaer's president, Dr. Shirley Ann Jackson, has created the Rensselaer Plan - the Institute's strategic plan - which now serves as the driving force to achieve new prominence for the Institute in the 21st century. The East Campus Athletic Village, which officially opened Oct. 3, is the latest stage in Rensselaer's transformation into a university whose students can realize their full potential inside and outside the classroom. The $92 million facility brings an unprecedented level of quality to Rensselaer athletics, and promises to have a major impact on the student experience. With the refurbished Houston Field House hockey arena and a stadium as its anchors, ECAV is an elaborate but comfortable complex that includes three turf fields, two basketball gyms, deluxe locker rooms for 10 varsity teams, locker rooms for recreational users, a cafe, the Athletic Hall of Fame, athletics offices, two VIP areas, and numerous meeting spaces. Add to that professional-class training facilities with a sports medicine suite and a 4,800-square-foot strength and conditioning center. The Director of Marketing & Promotions for Athletics will manage the work of the department which includes the responsibility for merchandise sales, ticket sales, parking, events, promotions and camps; assists in identifying market potential and in establishing revenue goals, manages the department budget and contributes to the development of department policies and procedures.
