Regis University in Denver, CO, an NCAA Division II institution with 12 varsity athletic teams, and one of 28 Jesuit institutions of higher learning, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Athletics. This 12-month, full-time position will report to the Vice President for University Mission. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to: recruiting and hiring of qualified coaches and staff; oversee and manage the general Athletic Dept. and 12 sport budgets; oversee the University's Athletic facilities and long-range facility planning; maintain the institution's compliance of all athletic programs in accordance with the NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and University rules as well as Title IX; oversee all department and team fundraising efforts; coordinate the administration of home contests; serve as primary liaison between Athletics and the FAR, University Deans and other key University administrators; maintain and establish an environment in which athletes are given the opportunity to have a positive experience as a Student Athlete; represent Regis University by attending all meetings of the RMAC and NCAA, when necessary; encourage and create an atmosphere of sportsmanship, professionalism and respect among the staff, coaches and student athletes within the department.
Successful candidates will have a Master's Degree in Sports Management, or a related field, as well as previous experience in intercollegiate athletics administration. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience as an NCAA Division II athletic administrator, coach or student athlete. The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
