The University of Arizona invites nominations and applications for Director of Athletics to lead its Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, a comprehensive Division I Intercollegiate Athletics Program that oversees expenditures in excess of $54 million, supports 150 employees, and serves approximately 509 student-athletes in 19 men's and women's sports competing in the PAC-10 Conference. The Director of Athletics reports to the President and serves on the President's Cabinet. THE POSITION The Director of Athletics is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating a comprehensive Division I Intercollegiate Athletics Program that oversees expenditures in excess of $54 million, supports 150 employees, and serves approximately 509 student-athletes in 19 men's and women's sports competing in the PAC-10 Conference. The Director of Athletics reports to the President and serves on the President's Cabinet. The Director of Athletics provides leadership for coaching and administrative staffs in the identification, development and realization of departmental goals and objectives consistent with the mission of the University. The Director of Athletics is also responsible for establishing and overseeing departmental processes designed to review, assess and improve effectiveness of coaches, staff and programs mindful of the academic and personal needs of the student-athletes. Additionally, the Director of Athletics monitors and promotes compliance with all NCAA, Pacific-10 Conference and University rules and regulations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
