NACDA Adds Katie Newman to National Office Staff

Cleveland, Ohio – The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) has hired Katie Newman to the position of Assistant Administrator/Association Liaison. Newman, a 2007 Wilmington College graduate, officially began her duties on July 1. She has been hired to be the liaison for the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association Inc. (MOAA) and the McLendon Foundation, as well as the administrator for the Athletics Director of the Year Program (ADOY). Newman was a 2007-08 NACDA intern in which her responsibilities included assisting with the McLendon Foundation and spearheading the 1,300-entry, 18-category, 3-subdivision NACMA Awards Program. At Wilmington, she was a student-athlete on the women's basketball team, including a member of the 2004 national championship squad. Newman worked in the public relations department as an assistant to the sports information director. Her duties included keeping statistics and writing press releases for various sporting events, as well as developing and printing game-day programs. About NACDA: NACDA, now in its 44th year, is the professional and educational association for more than 6,500 college athletics administrators at more than 1,600 institutions throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. More than 2,200 athletics administrators annually attend the NACDA Convention. Additionally, NACDA administers 11 professional associations for the separate business units that report directly to the athletics director.
