NACDA Elects New Officers and Executive Committee Members

CLEVELAND - The members of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) have selected Dave Roach, director of athletics at Colgate University, to serve as president for 2010-11. Roach, who replaced outgoing president Randy Spetman, director of athletics at Florida State University, was announced as president on June 23 in conjunction with the Association's 45th Annual Convention, which was held June 22-25 at the Marriott Hotel in Anaheim, Calif.

"I want to thank Randy for leading NACDA during the past year," Roach said. "The 2010 Convention was one of the best in the history of our Association and it's an honor to be elected to serve as president during the upcoming year."

Also elected to serve NACDA for the 2010-11 term were 1st Vice President Dan Guerrero, director of athletics at UCLA; 2nd Vice President Kevin Anderson, director of athletics at the United States Military Academy; 3rd Vice President Mike Alden, director of athletics at the University of Missouri; and David Stair, director of athletics at Evangel University, to the fifth year of a five-year term as secretary.

Executive Committee members selected include athletics directors Al Bean, University of Southern Maine; Chet Gladchuk, United States Naval Academy; Paul Krebs, University of New Mexico; Lew Perkins, University of Kansas; and Joyce Wong, Eastern Connecticut State University. Joni Comstock, senior vice president for championships, NCAA; John Marinatto, commissioner, Big East; and Carla Williams, senior associate athletics director/senior woman administrator, University of Georgia were selected as at-large representatives.
