Matt Wagner joins NACDA after a stint in the Butler University athletics department, where he worked with marketing and corporate partnership initiatives.
Prior to Butler, Wagner worked as a graduate student intern at the University of Louisville while working towards a master's degree in sports administration. While at NACDA, Wagner will continue to work towards his master's degree with an expected completion date of May 2012. He will also continue assisting Butler and Louisville remotely, assisting with marketing and corporate partnerships for the Bulldogs, while helping the Cardinals develop graphics and promotional materials for the football, baseball, men's and women's basketball and men's and women's soccer programs.
Prior to his time at Louisville, Wagner was a student-athlete at Niagara University, earning a bachelor's degree in sports management in May 2010. While at Niagara, Wagner was a resident coordinator and an athletics department volunteer. He was also a two-year captain of the Purple Eagles' swim team and named to the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for four consecutive years.
The Indianapolis, Indiana native will work with NACMA, the DI-AAA ADA, the Under Armour ADOY program and sponsorship administration throughout his internship at NACDA.
Following his internship, Wagner plans to continue working in intercollegiate athletics pursuing a senior-level administrator role in marketing, development,and external operations at the NCAA Division I level. He can be reached at email@example.com.
