Jaclyn Garris, a native of Vero Beach, Florida, graduated from Elon University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in leisure and sport management. While at Elon, Garris worked for two years in the Game Operations and Ticketing offices. During her senior year, she was the student leader for the Game Operations student staff, with specific responsibilities to football, volleyball, and men's and women's basketball events. Garris was the president of the Leisure and Sport Management Society her senior year and helped start the on-campus student fan group for Elon Athletics, the Phoenix Phanatics her freshman year. She was awarded the Major of the Year Award in Leisure and Sport Management in 2008 and was also the recipient of the Elon Athletic Department's MVP-Service Award. During the summer of 2007, Garris was an intern with the 17-time World Champion Boston Celtics in the Game Operations and Special Events Department where she worked closely with the Celtics dance team and helped with the team's adidas Draft Night Party, community appearances, press conferences, and the Celtic Dancer's Final Auditions at Avalon. Garris plans to pursue a Master's Degree in Sport Management and a career in Division I athletics. She will be working with NACMA, FCS, CABMA and NATYCAA. She can be reached at: jgarris@nacda.com |
