NAADD Announces 2012-13 Officers and Executive Committee

Courtesy of Ole MissCLEVELAND – The members of the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) elected University of Mississippi Senior Executive Associate Athletics Director for External Relations Stephen Ponder, to serve as President in 2012-13.  Ponder replaces Whit Babcock, director of athletics, University of Cincinnati, who served as President during 2011-12.

“NAADD had another outstanding Convention in 2012, with our highest attendance ever, and I want to thank Whit, our Officers, Executive Committee and Conference Representatives for helping make that possible,” stated Ponder.  “I am excited to continue that momentum into 2013 and look forward to leading our Association during the upcoming year.”

Also elected to serve as officers for the 2012-13 were – 1st Vice President Jim Senter, associate athletics director – development at the University of Colorado; 2nd Vice President/Secretary Kay Hargrave, senior associate athletics director - development at Auburn University; and 3rd Vice President/Treasurer Bill Ring, director of leadership gifts at Boston University. 

New members of the 2012-13 Executive Committee include Rick Darnell, executive director- athletic fundraising, Baylor University and Dirk Katstra, executive director of the Virginia Athletics Foundation/associate athletics director for external affairs, University of Virginia.

These new committee members join Doug Knuth, associate athletics director for external relations at the University of Utah; Josh Rebholz, associate athletics director – development at UCLA; and Scarlett Schmidt, associate athletics director/senior executive director of athletics development at George Washington University.
