CLEVELAND – The National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) selected Dirk Katstra, executive director of the Virginia Athletics Foundation and senior associate athletics director at the University of Virginia, to serve as President for 2018-19.
“I have been involved in NAADD my entire career in college athletics,” stated Katstra. “For the past several years I have enjoyed working with my colleagues from across the country on the Executive Committee and I look forward to continuing to serve our industry in the upcoming year as President. We have worked hard to enhance the educational programming and networking opportunities at the Convention each year and this summer in Washington D.C. was phenomenal. Our focus over the next year will be to continue to respond to the needs of our membership at all levels within college athletics not only at the Convention but throughout the year.”
In addition to Katstra, NAADD selected Sarah Baumgartner, deputy director of athletics at Rutgers University as 1st Vice President; Steve Novak, senior associate athletics director, development and strategic initiatives at Boston College as 2nd Vice President and Secretary; and Ben Broussard, assistant vice chancellor – associate athletics director at the University of Colorado as 3rd Vice President and Treasurer.
Alongside the 2018-19 Officers, the Executive Committee will work to advance and continue to develop the Association. The 2018-19 Executive Committee will consist of Dan Cloran, executive associate athletics director, development at The Ohio State University; Amy Heard, senior associate athletics director for leadership development at Texas Tech University; Markus Jennings, associate athletics director for external affairs at Sacramento State; Karen Langston, senior associate athletics director for external relations and capital projects at California State University – Bakersfield; Jeremy Wang, senior associate athletics director and assistant vice president for development at Temple University; Ryan White, senior associate athletics director for development at Ohio University; and Jennifer Lynne Williams, interim director of athletics at Alabama State University.
