NAADD Announces 2014 Diversity Stipend Recipients

March 18, 2014

For the eighth year in a row, the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) has announced the recipients of its Diversity Initiative Program. Recipients receive Convention stipends to attend the 2014 NAADD Convention, as well as the Fundamentals of Athletic Development (FOAD) sessions, which will take place from June 9-12 at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Florida. This year, in conjunction with the Convention, NAADD will recognize past winners with an alumni reception on Sunday, June 8.

"The NAADD Diversity Initiative allows our Association to recognize first class minority and female administrators and provide them with the opportunity to advance their careers in intercollegiate athletics development," stated NAADD President Jim Senter, senior associate athletics director for external relations, University of Colorado.  "Our Diversity Initiative Committee did an outstanding job publicizing and promoting this great program. This year, we awarded the largest number of stipends, the applicant pool was deep and one of the most talented we have ever had.  The selection committee led by NAADD Executive Committee members Rick Darnell (Illinois), Jim Harris (South Florida) and former Diversity Initiative winner Anthony Henderson (Akron) did an outstanding job of sorting through many qualified applicants to select the recipients. We appreciate their efforts and congratulate our winners."
