Whit Babcock is currently entering his fourth year at the University of Missouri as the Executive Associate Director of Athletics.

A native of Harrisonburg, Va., Babcock came to Mizzou in August of 2007 following a five-year stint as the Assistant Athletics Director and Executive Director of Development for West Virginia University.

During his tenure at WVU, private giving increased by more than 200 percent to a total of $14 million annually. Babcock also led the fundraising efforts associated with a $35 million athletics facility enhancement campaign while serving on the senior staff.

At Missouri, Babcock oversees the External Operations of the department which includes all fund-raising matters related to the Tiger Scholarship Fund, and provides directorial oversight to the Marketing and Promotions Department, Athletics Ticket Office, game operations department, licensing, internet services, Mizzou Sports Properties (multi-media rights) and men's basketball. Since his arrival, Mizzou has reached all time highs in donor participation, fundraising, season ticket sales, and department-wide revenue generation. The men's basketball program is coming off two consecutive NCAA tournament appearances highlighted by an Elite-Eight run with Head Coach Mike Anderson garnering National Coach of the Year honors in 2009.

He was recently appointed to serve on the 16-person NCAA Men's Basketball Issues Committee and has served on the 12-member National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD) Executive Committee since 2006.

Prior to his stint at West Virginia, Babcock spent five years at Auburn serving as the Assistant Athletics Director for Development. During his time in Auburn, he supervised the development program while serving on the executive planning committee for the Tigers' $80 million capital campaign for athletics.

A former collegiate athlete himself, Babcock lettered four seasons for the James Madison University Baseball program, serving as team captain during his senior campaign. He earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology and sports studies in 1992 from JMU and later received his master's degree in sport management from West Virginia in 1996. Whit and his wife Kelly have three sons.
