Dec. 12, 2017

CLEVELAND - NAAC is now accepting nominations for the Nomination Subcommittee. If you would like to self-nominate or submit a nomination, please click here.

The Nominating Subcommittee will be responsible for presenting a diverse slate of nominees for the membership's annual consideration for at-large Board positions and Nominating Subcommittee positions. The individuals elected to serve on the Nominating Subcommittee are expected to display a long-term commitment to NAAC, its mission statement and core principles, with an aim at a diverse representation of NAAC's membership.

Considerations for the selection of nominees will include the following:

  • conference/divisional affiliation
  • geographic location
  • gender
  • race/ethnicity
  • previous involvement in NAAC

Please note: nominees must be dues-paying NAAC members

For the first year, the NAAC Officers will present a slate of 10 nominees for election to four (4) available positions on the Nominating Subcommittee. In future years, the Nominating Subcommittee will recommend nominees for at-large Board position(s) and the Nominating Subcommittee. The Nominating Subcommittee will be led by the Chair of the Membership & Awards Committee.

The two (2) Nominating Subcommittee members that receive the most votes will serve a two-year term. The next two (2) highest vote-getters will serve a one-year term. Members are eligible to be re-elected once for a maximum four-year service.

Self-nominations and/or nominations of other NAAC members are due no later than January 15, 2018.

Membership voting will take place electronically by May 1 (election determined by a majority of those members who vote).

If you have any questions regarding the process please contact NAAC Intern, Pete Collins
