Sept. 3, 2008
CLEVELAND-- The National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) has approved a new logo for the association as it was announced today by NAAC President Judy Van Horn, associate athletics director/senior woman administrator at the University of Michigan. The new logo is effective immediately. "NAAC is dedicated to providing compliance solutions. As NAAC continues to move forward with its presence in our industry, we felt that our logo needed an updated look to coincide with our mission," stated Van Horn. "We couldn’t be happier with the fresh look that our logo now has thanks to Rickabaugh Graphics." Earlier this year, the association announced its restructure to better serve intercollegiate athletics. To date, the restructuring has included the association name change from the National Association of Athletics Compliance Coordinators to the National Association for Athletics Compliance, the passing of updated association by-laws, the establishment of committees for the development of Reasonable Standards (for compliance monitoring), Legislation and Governance, Professional Standards and Ethics, Organizational Advancement and Communication in addition to moving the association’s convention to the same site as the NACDA Convention. The 2009 NAAC Convention will include programming and professional development for compliance professionals and will take place June 17-18, 2009, at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Florida.
