NAAC Selects 2010-11 Board of Directors

CLEVELAND -- The members of the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) elected to have Tony Hernandez, senior associate athletics director at the University of Miami to serve as president during 2010-11. Hernandez takes over for Amy Folan, associate athletics director for compliance at the University of Texas, who served as President of the Association from in 2009-10. "I want to thank Amy for her efforts in helping grow our Association, without her leadership, NAAC would not be what it is today," stated Hernandez. "I look forward to continuing the momentum of our Association throughout the course of the next year."

Also elected to serve as officers for the 2010-11 were Kate Hickey, senior associate athletics director/senior woman administrator at Rutgers University (1st Vice President); Christian Spears, senior associate athletics directors, Northern Illinois University (2nd Vice President); and Julie Cromer, senior associate athletics directors, Indiana University (3rd Vice President).

Three administrators joined the Board of Directors this year after serving in ex-officio roles in 2009-10 - Lori Grierson, assistant athletics director, University of Texas; Erin Kido, assistant athletics director - compliance, Xavier University; and Josh Snyder, associate athletics director, Iowa State University. The trio joins the following individuals on the Board: Dan Bartholomae, assistant athletics director - compliance, University of Pittsburgh; Joseph D'Antonio, associate commissioner/compliance and governance, Big East Conference; Jon Fagg, senior associate athletics director, University of Arkansas; Brad Hostetter, director of academic and membership affairs, NCAA; John Morris, senior associate athletics director compliance/student development, University of Washington; Shondell Reed, senior associate athletics director for internal and external operations, Colgate University; Tricia Turley, associate athletics director for compliance and student services, Ohio University; Steve Waterfield, association AD for student services, University of Wisconsin; and Josh White, associate athletics director external affairs, University of Nebraska Omaha.


 

 

Selected to serve as ex officios during 2010-11 are Elizabeth Heinrich, assistant athletics director, University of Michigan; Josh Moon, associate director of athletics, Western Illinois University; and David Reed, assistant athletics director, University of Miami.
