Jamie McCloskey, Associate Commissioner at the Mid-American Conference since 1986 and a member of the Executive Committee of the National Association for Athletics Compliance, joined the University Athletic Association in March of 1992 as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. Since his arrival, he has taken on the added responsibilities of overseeing the men's and women's cross country, men's tennis and soccer programs.

Having an outstanding national reputation and track record in the area of athletic compliance, McCloskey has been involved in athletic compliance since 1982 when he was named a Legislative Assistant at the NCAA. From 1982-86, he provided interpretations of NCAA rules and regulations and was also a staff liaison to the NCAA Academic Requirements and Eligibility Committees.

In 1986 he was named Associate Commissioner of the Mid-American Conference with primary duties and responsibilities in directing the conference's compliance efforts and providing interpretations of NCAA rules and regulations. He helped to manage the conference budget while overseeing the administration of 20 conference championship events. Jamie served as the conference office staff liaison with the league's Council of Presidents. When he was named Mid-American's Associate Commissioner, he assumed the duties as Associate Commissioner of the Ohio Athletic Conference. In 1991, McCloskey served as Interim Commissioner of both the Mid-American and Ohio Athletic Conference.

Between 1989 and 1996 he has served on the NCAA Legislative Review Committee and in 1992 was named President of the Association of Athletic Compliance Coordinators. In 1997, he was appointed to the NCAA Initial Eligibility Waiver Committee.

McCloskey, 51, graduated in 1979 from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Business and Sports Administration. He received his Master's in Sports Administration from Ohio University in 1980. He has completed course work for a Doctorate Degree in Higher Education at the University of Kansas.

McCloskey began his career in sports administration serving internships at Notre Dame in 1980, at the University of Houston and with the Houston Astros in 1981. In 1981, he was named Sales Manager of Superturf Sport Surfaces, a role he held until being named Legislative Assistant with the NCAA in 1982.

He is married to the former Jan Russell from Manhattan, Kansas. They have four children, Katie (18) and Maggie (15) Ryan (12) and Jennifer (11).
