MOAA Elects Officers and Board of Directors for 2011-12

CLEVELAND - The members of the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA) have retained Sean T. Frazier, deputy athletics director at the University of Wisconsin, as president of the Association for the 2011-12 year. "We had another outstanding Symposium in Orlando, thank you to the members and sponsors that helped make it great," stated Frazier. "MOAA's membership continues to increase each year and I look forward to continuing that trend during my second term as President." In addition to Frazier's appointment, the following MOAA members were selected to serve as officers in 2011-12 - Executive Director Stan Johnson, president of Stan Johnson & Associates; Secretary Dr. Sharon R. Beverly, director of athletics and physical education, Vassar College; and Board Representative Mario Moccia, director of athletics, Southern Illinois University. The Treasurer position will be voted on later this summer. The Association's Board of Directors added a pair of individuals, Mike Harrity, associate athletics director for community relations & outreach, University of Kansas and Shelana Poindexter, director of compliance, Florida Gulf Coast University. Harrity and Poindexter join Peggy Davis, director of athletics, Virginia State University; Earl Edwards, director of athletics, University of California San Diego; Darlene Gordon, director of championships and business operations/SWA, Patriot League; Paula Jackson, associate director of athletics, Mississippi Valley State University; Rudy Keeling, commissioner, Eastern College Athletic Conference; Floyd Kerr, director of athletics, Morgan State University; Warde Manuel, director of athletics, University at Buffalo; Lee McElroy, director of athletics & VP, athletics administration, University at Albany; Garnett Purnell, director of athletics & recreation, Wittenberg University; and Dell Robinson, commissioner, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
