Charles Whitcomb Position: Vice Provost for Academic Administration & Personnel Institution: San Jose State University

Dr. Charles Whitcomb is the Vice Provost for Academic Administration and Personnel at San Jose State University. He also served as the former Dean of the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males and Females. He has served terms on the NCAA Management Council representing the Western Athletic Conference. He has served on numerous NCAA policy committees, including chairing the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee for thirteen years. He is well known in the NCAA circle. Dr. Whitcomb has over 20 years experience as an NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative (responsible for reviewing student-athlete academic records for athletic participation and overseeing student-athlete welfare) at a Division IA institution. He currently serves as a board member on MOAA.

Dr. Whitcomb is originally from the Monterey Peninsula. He was inducted into his junior college sports Hall of Fame and participated in college athletics at a Division IA institution as a recruited student-athlete.
