Sean T. Frazier was promoted to deputy athletics director in April 2011 and will serve as the department's chief of staff. He will also add sport administrator duties for men's basketball, liaison to the Chancellor's office and strategic planning to his list of responsibilities.

In addition to this duties above, Frazier will continue to have oversight of men's and women's hockey, event management, facilities, food and beverage, strength and conditioning, campus outreach, diversity plan coordination and he is the liaison to the UW foundation principal gift group, mendota gridiron football booster club, the WCHA, the recreation sports board, transportation services, and the dean's leadership council.

Frazier was named senior associate athletic director for operations in 2009. He came to Wisconsin in 2007 as an associate athletic director for events and facilities after serving in the position of Director of Athletics at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass.

Frazierhas had asolid career in college athletics and sports management. While at Merrimack College, Frazier oversaw an athletics department with 16 NCAA sponsor sports. Some of Frazier's career highlights at Merrimack were the development of an athletics strategic plan; facility enhancements to hockey locker rooms and basketball arena; football program Conference Championship and NCAA Bid; increased athletic department team GPA from 2.68 to 3.0; and the development of new athletic logos and trademarks along with establishing a departmental licensing program.

Prior to his appointment at Merrimack, Frazier was the Director of Athletics at Clarkson University with oversight of 20 NCAA sports and a host of recreation and intramural sport offerings.

At Clarkson, Frazier implemented a departmental strategic planning process that yielded such positive results as; establishment of a television agreement; establishment of a multi-station radio agreement; creation of a department licensing plan with new athletic logos and trademarks; establishment of a brand identity program and athletic apparel agreement; establishment of a courtesy car program; facility enhancements to alumni gymnasium baseball field & women's ice hockey locker room; establishment and start-up of Division I Women's Ice Hockey; establishment of the Green & Gold Club for athletic fundraising; development and launch of a new department web site; and an establishment of a departmental athletic academic support services program.

Before Clarkson, Frazier was the Athletic Director at Manhattanville College. While at Manhattanville, Frazier was instrumental in increasing overall team win percentage and team GPA. Frazier established both men's and women's ice hockey programs. He increased sports-related revenue through ticket sales and creation of a varsity sports shop with trademark licensing agreements. Frazier also established sport camps, forged corporate and alumni partnerships, and developed sponsorships for sport tournaments.

Prior to Manhattanville, Frazier worked in several administrative positions at the University of Maine in Orono. Most recent was as an assistant director of athletics, where he co-founded and advised the Student Heritage Alliance Center (SHAC), a multicultural center and service board. Frazier also provided senior administrative support and leadership to the 1999 Maine's Men's Ice Hockey National Championship Team.

A member of numerous collegiate athletic and administrative organizations, including the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), Frazier serves as President and member of the Executive Board of the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA) and is also a Guest Lecturer and Executive Mentor for the NCAA Fellows Leadership Development Program.

Frazier is a native of Long Island, N.Y., and earned his bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Alabama and master's degree in higher education leadership from the University of Maine. He is presently pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis at UW. Frazier also played football for Alabama from (1987-91) and was a part of a Southeastern Conference Championship team in 1989.

Frazier and his wife, Rosa, have three children; two daughters, Marina and Marcella and a son Maximo.
