Clint Bryant Position: Director of Athletics Institution: Augusta State University

Now in his 21st year as Director of Athletics at Augusta State University, Clint Bryant was named the Division II AD of the Year for the Southeast Region by NACDA (National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics) in the summer of 2007.

Bryant, who is also in his 11th year as administrative associate to the president, oversees a 10-sport athletic program that has consistently battled for conference and regional honors. Under Bryant's leadership, Jaguar and Lady Jaguar programs have enjoyed prosperity on and off the playing fields and courts.

ASU enjoyed perhaps its top two seasons in school history in 2006-07 and 2007-08 when 11 Jaguar teams qualified for NCAA Regional competition with 10 of the teams earning national rankings in their respective sports.

He currently serves as chair of the Division II Project Team Related To Issues of Diversity and second vice president of the Black Coaches Association Board of Directors. He also has previously served as a member of the Division II Budget and Finance Committee, chairman of the Championships Committee and the NCAA Basketball Rules Committee.

Heavily involved in the community, Bryant is past president of the Greater Au¬gusta Sports Council and is a co-founder of the NIKE Peach Jam, the premiere summer amateur basketball festival in the nation.

Bryant earned a B.S. in business administration from Belmont Abbey College in 1977 and received a master's degree in personnel services in 1980 from Clemson University. At Belmont, he received the Marty Thomas Scholar-Athlete Award, given annually to a student-athlete who demonstrated both academic and athletic excellence.

Bryant is married to the former Patricia Sweeney of Piedmont, S.C. They have two daughters, Lauren Ashley (19), a sophomore at Georgetown Uni¬versity, and Kristin Amanda (18), a freshman at Wake Forest.
