Cleveland, Ohio -- The Awards Committee of the International Collegiate Licensing Association (ICLA) has selected Dale Carder of Central Missouri with the Synergy Award: Program of the Year.

Carder will be recognized at ICLA's Fifth Annual Convention, June 7-10 at the World Center Marriott Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Carder became the associate vice president for university advancement at Central Missouri in 2002. In this capacity, Carder's primary goal is enhancing the University image to have a positive impact on enrollment, alumni and donor activities.

He has achieved this goal through the establishment of several licensing and branding programs such as, "Get the Red Out," which is a back to school festival involving a home football game, the entire Warrensburg community and local retailers who are encouraged to show their support of the Mules through the sales and promotion of UCM licensed products.

Carder also established a "Branding UCM Seminar" to educate the campus community on the importance of licensing, and the "UCM Retailer Program," and also utilized this time to keep retailers abreast of campus developments. Carder utilizes several "Outside the Box" marketing programs, in conjunction with the UCM licensing program to establish a strong brand for the university. These have included the universities own hot air balloon, a university day at the State Fair and permanent information booth at a local mall.

Additionally, Carder has conducted a communications audit that has resulted in a new brand strategy, improved communication flow, and a redesigned web page. As chair of the University Integrated Marketing Team, he has overseen an institutional name change, program growths in licensed retailers of 120 percent during the past year and new record highs in royalties each of the past three years. Carder is a member of ICLA, and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Carder has been a frequent presenter and author of unique marketing techniques and has won numerous awards in Missouri and the Midwest for his contributions to marketing and higher education.
