With ICLA membership near an all-time high and our organization expanding opportunities as a year-round resource for collegiate licensing professionals, our ICLA Board of Directors is seeking outstanding professionals to be considered for leadership positions on the Board. ICLA is currently looking to fill two (2) institutional licensing director Board positions. The current Board is made up of a representation of member types, conference affiliation, position levels, and geographical regions. All who meet the criteria and who feel that they can fulfill the commitment are welcome to apply.
The ICLA Board commitment is a minimum of four (4) years, and, for licensing directors who become officers, it could potentially become up to an eight (8) year commitment. This new Board member’s term will begin in July 2018 and conclude in June 2022, unless that member becomes an officer which is an additional four (4) year commitment. Board members must be able to attend the twice yearly in-person Board meetings (held at the Winter Symposium and Summer Convention respectively) and also monthly 1-2 hour Board conference calls.

At the completion of the nomination process, a ballot will be distributed among the voting membership (primary member of all College/University memberships).
The following is the timeline for nominations:
March 30, 2018 - Nomination deadline
April 2, 2018 - Ballot distributed to voting membership
April 13, 2018 - Deadline for ballots to be submitted
June 27-30, 2018 - Announce New Board Members at the ICLA Convention (Washington D.C.)
All ICLA Board Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Candidate must work in the collegiate licensing industry for an institution, retailer, or licensee
- Candidates should bring unique viewpoints, experiences, ideas, and represent a diverse background from the collegiate licensing community
Commitment: The ICLA Board of Directors and Officers are not your traditional advisory Board. It is an active, working Board who, along with the NACDA National Office staff, strive to achieve ICLA’s mission. Each Board member serves as a chair or co-chair of one of ICLA’s committees or initiatives. Each committee is directly responsible for designing programming specific to targeted membership areas or implementing particular initiatives. Those committees/responsibilities currently include Awards; Board Development; Conference Representatives; Symposium and Convention Planning; Mentorship Program; Sponsorship; Strategic Communications; Benchmarking Survey and updating the Licensing Resource Book. As mentioned above, Board members are required to attend the twice yearly in-person board meetings and attend monthly 1-2 hour board phone/video calls.
