Ryan Erwin serves as Dallas Baptist University's (DBU) director of athletics. While at DBU, Erwin has been actively involved in the planning and developing the Sadler Patriot Clubhouse, Tabor Patriot Guesthouse, the addition of Patriot Basketball, women's golf, cheerleading, the construction of the DBU Intramural Field, the remodel of the Lady Patriot Volleyball and Soccer Locker Rooms and the construction of the new baseball outfield padded fence. Erwin also played an integral part in the construction and remodeling of many athletics facilities, including the $1,500,000 renovation of the Burg Center. He also helped create and form the Athletics Facilities Department.

Erwin has played an instrumental role in the Christ-centered Patriot Discipleship program, developing "Champions for Christ," as well as the athletics department's Global Missions Initiative with athletics mission trips to Guatemala, Peru, and Korea. He also instituted an Athletic Study Hall, which has helped boost the department GPA to the highest in the history of Patriot athletics.

Under Erwin's leadership, DBU has seen their first-ever NCAA regional appearances in baseball, men's basketball and men and women's golf. Erwin is an active member of the National Association of College Director of Athletics (NACDA), National College Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) and the NCAA Division II Athletic Director Association (D2ADA).

Erwin has also served at Dallas Baptist as the assistant director of athletics for media relations and compliance from 2003-2006, as well as serving in the office of the executive vice president. He has previously worked for Today Newspapers in Duncanville and Cedar Hill, as well as the Terrell Tribune, writing for the sports section.

Erwin graduated from DBU in 2003, with a bachelor of arts in communication and double minor in psychology and biblical studies. He completed his Master of Education in higher education administration in December of 2004 from DBU, and he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in sports administration from the United States Sports Academy.

Erwin and his wife, Kristy, a 2003 and 2005 DBU graduate and manager of DBU's Founders Bookstore, reside in Cedar Hill, Texas.
