Greg LaFleur is in his fourth year as the Director of Athletics of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge. LaFleur brings a wealth of knowledge and 16 years of college athletic administration experience to the Southern University Athletic Department.

LaFleur, a former standout football player and athletic administrator at Louisiana State University, returns to Baton Rouge after spending the past nine months as the Athletic Director at Chicago State University in Chicago, Illinois. Before assuming the athletic director position at CSU, LaFleur spent several months as the Athletic Director at Huston-Tillotson College in Austin, Texas.

Prior to working at Huston-Tillotson College, LaFleur spent nearly three years as the Athletic Director at Texas State University-San Marcos, an NCAA Division I school that plays I-AA football and has an enrollment of 25,000 students. Prior to working at Texas State, LaFleur served 12 years in athletic administration at LSU, with the final 10 years being served as an Associate Athletic Director.

At LSU, LaFleur was responsible for concessions, merchandising, game/event management and student support services. While at LSU, he served on the NCAA Championship/Competition Cabinet and was also the national spokesperson for the Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education.

LaFleur, who graduated from LSU in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in physical education, played six years with three different teams in the National Football League. After being drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles, he also played for the St. Louis Cardinals and ended his playing career with the Indianapolis Colts. While in college at LSU, LaFleur lettered for three seasons as a tight end/wide receiver in football. After his playing days were completed, LaFleur got into coaching as he served as a graduate assistant football coach at LSU before entering athletic administration.

A native of Ville Platte, La., LaFleur and his wife, Corinne, were married in November of 2000 and the couple has a son, Greyson. In addition, LaFleur has another son, Robert Sacre who plays basketball at Gonzaga University and lives in Vancouver, B.C.
