CLEVELAND - The Pepperdine University was honored with the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (DI-AAA ADA) All-Sports trophy for the 2011-12 year. For the third time in eight years, Pepperdine was the top-ranked Division I-AAA institution in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings. The Waves also captured the title in both 2004-05 and 2005-06.
Pepperdine tallied 334.00 total points in the standings, scoring in men's soccer, women's volleyball, baseball, women's golf and both men's and women's tennis.
Rounding out the top-five in Division I were UC Irvine in second with 274.00 points, St. John's in third with 258.00 points, Boston University in fourth with 230.00 points and Denver in fifth with 227.50 points.
The following institutions captured 2011-12 DI-AAA ADA All-Sports Trophies: baseball - St. John's; men's basketball - Marquette, Xavier; women's basketball - Gonzaga, St. Bonaventure, St. John's; men's cross country - Portland; women's cross country - San Francisco; men's golf - North Florida; women's golf - Pepperdine; men's soccer - Creighton; women's soccer - Long Beach State; softball -Hofstra; men's tennis - Pepperdine; women's tennis - Long Beach State, Pepperdine; men's indoor track & field - Oral Roberts; women's indoor track & field - Wichita State; men's outdoor track & field - Oral Roberts; women's outdoor track & field - Wichita State; and women's volleyball - Pepperdine.
