DI-AAA ADA Announces 2011-12 Officers and Executive Committee

CLEVELAND - The members of the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (D1-AAA ADA) have chosen Ken Kavanagh, director of athletics at Florida Gulf Coast University, to serve as President for 2011-12.

“I want to thank outgoing President Brian Quinn, athletics director at Cal State Fullerton, for the tremendous leadership that he provided to our membership throughout the past year,” stated Kavanagh. “As our Association heads into our second decade, I am honored for the opportunity to continue the momentum and to work with our terrific executive committee in our daily efforts to serve our wonderful student-athletes and institutions for whom our organization represents.”

Also elected to serve the DI-AAA ADA for the 2011-12 term were 1st Vice President John Suarez, director of athletics at Long Island University Brooklyn; 2nd Vice President Keith Gill, director of athletics at American University; 3rd Vice President Peg Bradley-Doppes, vice chancellor for athletics at the University of Denver; Secretary Bob Driscoll, director of athletics at Providence College; and Treasurer Gene Doris, director of athletics at Fairfield University.

Additionally, Rich Ensor, commissioner at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference; Mike Lynch, director of athletics at Boston University; Mark Massari, director of athletics at UC Santa Barbara; Ed McLaughlin, director of athletics at Niagara University; Dave Mullins, director of athletics at East Tennessee State University; John Stanley, director of athletics at the University of Evansville; and Norwood Teague, director of athletics at Virginia Commonwealth University were added to the Executive Committee.

The new Executive Committee members join Troy Austin, director of athletics at Longwood University; Dan Coonan, director of athletics at Santa Clara University; Keri Gaither, director of athletics at the University of Detroit; Tim Hall, director of athletics at the University of Missouri Kansas City; Bill Hogan, director of athletics at Seattle University; and Steve Watson, director of athletics at St. Bonaventure University on the DI-AAA ADA 2011-12 Executive Committee.
