Call for Nominations - DI-AAA ADA Gary Cunningham Lifetime Achievement Award

Nominations from the I-AAA ADA membership are being accepted for the eighth annual I-AAA Athletic Directors' Association Gary Cunningham Lifetime Achievement Award. To be bestowed annually upon an individual who, for a minimum of 15 years as a director of athletics and 25 years in total, has contributed to intercollegiate athletics in such a manner as to bring honor to themselves, their institution(s), and the profession as a whole. Honorees must be either a current member in good standing of the DI-AAA ADA or have been in such regard prior to their retirement from the field or whenever they departed their most recent DI-AAA institution.
Members of the Lifetime Achievement Award Committee and current DI-AAA ADA Officers are not eligible for the honor. Nominations are due in complete form (includes a letter of recommendation and resume of the nominee's past experience and credentials) by Friday, May 18 and should be faxed (239-590-7070) or e-mailed (firstname.lastname@example.org) to Ken Kavanagh, director of athletics, Florida Gulf Coast University. Nominees and nominators must both be Active Members in good standing (i.e., paid member) - with the exception of individuals who retired or were in such regard whenever they departed their most recent DI-AAA institution.
The next annual meeting of the Division I-AAA ADA will take place in conjunction with the NACDA Convention in Dallas, Texas, on Tuesday, June 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the De Soto Room of the Hilton Anatole Hotel. During this gathering, not only will the Lifetime Achievement Award honoree be recognized, but those with members on the recently announced 10th annual DI-AAA ADA Scholar-Athlete Teams, our Postgraduate Scholarship award recipients, as well as All-Sport Trophy honorees.
