Sixth Annual I-AAA Athletic Directors' Association Gary Cunningham Lifetime Achievement Award

Nominations from the I-AAA ADA membership are being accepted for the sixth annual I-AAA Athletic Directors' Association Gary Cunningham Lifetime Achievement Award. To be bestowed annually upon an individual who, for a minimum of 15 years as a director of athletics and 25 years in total, has contributed to intercollegiate athletics in such a manner as to bring honor to themselves, their institution(s), and the profession as a whole. Honorees must be either a current member in good standing of the I-AAA AD's Association or have been in such regard prior to their retirement from the field or whenever they departed their most recent I-AAA institution. Members of the Lifetime Achievement Award Committee and current I-AAA Officers are not eligible for the honor. Previous Honorees: Nominations are due in complete form (includes a letter of recommendation and resume of the nominee's past experience and credentials) by Friday, May 14 and should be faxed (239-590-7070), e-mailed (kavanagh@fgcu.edu) or mailed (10501 FGCU Boulevard South, Ft. Myers, FL 33965) to Ken Kavanagh, director of athletics, Florida Gulf Coast. Nominees and nominators must both be active members in good standing (i.e., paid member) - with the exception of individuals who retired or were in such regard whenever they departed their most recent I-AAA institution. The next annual meeting of the Division I-AAA ADA will take place in conjunction with the NACDA Convention in Anaheim, Calif., on Wednesday, June 23 at 2:30 p.m. During this gathering, not only will the Lifetime Achievement Award honoree be recognized, but those with members on the recently announced eighth annual I-AAA Scholar-Athlete Teams will be honored.
