Stanford Leads First Set of Division I Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings

CLEVELAND - Defending champion Stanford is the leader after the first fall Division I Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings. The Cardinal leads Syracuse by 15 points, 160-145.  Stanford accumulated its 160 points by having all of its squads finish in the top 10 in each of the three completed championships: men's cross country (fifth), women's cross country (ninth) and field hockey (ninth).

The Syracuse Orange finished in a tie for fifth in women's field hockey, 15th in men's cross country and 17th in women's cross country.

Not far behind is Colorado, who currently sits in third place with 142 points after placing third in men's cross country and 11th in women's cross country.

Three of the eight fall NCAA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles: men's cross country - Wisconsin; women's cross country - Georgetown; women's field hockey - Maryland

Cal State San Marcos Leads the First Fall NAIA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings

CLEVELAND - Cal State San Marcos leads the first set of Learfield Sports Directors' Cup fall standings.  The Cougars have accumulated 190 total points after taking home the women's cross country title and finishing second in men's cross country.

British Columbia (Can.) trails the Cougars by just 33 points after a third place finish in women's cross country and a sixth place result in men's cross country, resulting in 157 total points.

Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) is in third place with 137 points.  The Warriors finished in fourth place in men's cross country and earned an 11th place finish in the women's race.

Two of the six fall NAIA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles: men's cross country - Oklahoma Christian; women's cross country - Cal State San Marcos.
