Western State (Colo.) Leads First 2011-12 Division II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings; RMAC Places Two Institutions in the Top Five

CLEVELAND - In the first set of fall Division II Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings, Western State College (Colo.) has scored a high of 190.00 points. Augustana (S.D.) is close behind, with 172.00 points.

Three conferences have a pair of teams ranked in the top-10, RMAC (Western State, Adams State), GNAC (Alaska Anchorage-6th, Western Washington-9th) and PSAC (Shippensburg-7th, Bloomsburg-10th).

To date, three fall NCAA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles: women's cross country - Augustana (S.D.); men's cross country - Western State (Colo.); field hockey ­­- West Chester (Pa.).

Middlebury Leads First 2011-12 Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings; NESCAC Places Three Institutions in the Top Five

CLEVELAND - Middlebury (Vt.) leads in the first fall Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings with 295.00 points. The Panthers earned their point totals with second place finishes in both women's cross country and field hockey,  ninth in volleyball and a 13th place finish in men's cross country. 


 

 

The New England Small College Athletic Conference is leading the way with three of its institutions currently in the top five.  Following current leader Middlebury (Vt.) is Bowdowin (Maine) in third and Williams (Mass.) in fifth.

To date, four fall NCAA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles: women's cross country - Washington (Mo.); men's cross country - North Central (Il.); field hockey - The College of New Jersey; volleyball ­- Wittenberg (Ohio).
